Monster Hunter Rise Mobile FAQ
# Monster Hunter Rise Mobile — FAQ
Short answers to the questions everyone is asking about the mobile launch. As of October 8, 2026.
## Is Monster Hunter Rise on mobile?
Yes. An official mobile version launched October 7, 2026, published by Netflix Games on Android and iOS. [Here's the full story](/posts/is-monster-hunter-rise-on-mobile).
## Is it free?
Not exactly — it's included with a Netflix subscription. If you already pay for Netflix, the game costs nothing extra. There's no separate purchase, no ads, and no in-app purchases. [Pricing explained](/posts/is-rise-mobile-free).
## Do I need a Netflix account to play?
Yes. An active Netflix subscription is required — you sign in with it when you launch the game.
## Is it available in my country?
Maybe not yet. The launch is in soft-launch: confirmed live in the Philippines and Malaysia. Most other regions see "not available" on the store listing for now. That's normal and temporary.
## Is this a cloud-streamed version?
No. It's a native port that runs on your phone's hardware.
## Does the mobile version include Sunbreak?
No. It's the base Monster Hunter Rise game — the Sunbreak expansion is not on mobile.
## Can I play with a controller?
The mobile version was built around per-weapon touch controls. Nothing official has been said about controller support yet.
## Is there cross-play with Switch or PC?
Not that anyone has announced. Multiplayer is 4-player online co-op on mobile.
## Is there an official APK I can download?
No — and this is important. There is no standalone official "Monster Hunter Rise APK." The only legitimate version is the Netflix-published listing on the Google Play Store or App Store. Any site offering a free or modded APK is a scam. [How to spot them](/posts/fake-apk-warning-rise-mobile).
## How is this different from Monster Hunter Now?
Completely different games. Monster Hunter Now is Niantic's free-to-play, location-based game (think Pokémon GO with greatswords). Rise on mobile is the full console game, ported, behind a Netflix subscription. [Full comparison](/posts/rise-vs-monster-hunter-now-vs-outlanders).
## Where do I download it?
Only from the official store listings — [start here](/download).
