Is Monster Hunter Rise Mobile Free? Pricing Explained

# Is Monster Hunter Rise Mobile Free? Pricing Explained The most-asked question about the mobile launch, answered plainly: **it's free if you have Netflix, and there's no way to buy it standalone.** ## How the Netflix Games model works Monster Hunter Rise on mobile is published through **Netflix Games** — Netflix's catalog of games included with a subscription. The model is simple: - **Already a Netflix subscriber?** The game costs you nothing extra. Install it, sign in, play. - **Not a subscriber?** You'll need a Netflix subscription. The game has no standalone price — you can't just pay $40 for it like the console version. - **No ads. No in-app purchases.** That's the Netflix Games rule across the whole catalog. ## So is it "free"? It depends on what you mean. There's no purchase screen and no paywall inside the game. But it's not free-to-play in the mobile sense — it's **subscription-gated**. Cancel your Netflix subscription and you lose access, same as any other Netflix game. For most people asking this question, the practical answer is: if Netflix is already coming out of your account every month, this is a free full Monster Hunter game. If it isn't, you're deciding whether a Netflix subscription is worth it — and this game alone probably shouldn't be the reason, unless you're already on the fence. ## What about the fake "free" versions? This is where the pricing confusion gets dangerous. Scam sites are advertising "free Monster Hunter Rise APK" downloads right now, exploiting the fact that the real game is region-limited. Those files are malware. The real game is only ever installed from the official store listings while signed into Netflix. [Full warning here](/posts/fake-apk-warning-rise-mobile). Ready to install?
