# Rise vs Monster Hunter Now vs Outlanders: Which Mobile Monster Hunter Is Which
There are now three different Monster Hunter games floating around mobile, and their names blur together. Here's how to tell them apart so you download the one you actually want.
## Monster Hunter Rise (mobile) — the full game, via Netflix
**What it is:** The actual console game Monster Hunter Rise, natively ported to phones. Launched October 7, 2026.
**How you get it:** Netflix Games on Android and iOS — requires an active Netflix subscription. No ads, no in-app purchases.
**Who it's for:** People who want the real Monster Hunter experience — 14 weapons, big hunts, 4-player co-op — on their phone. [Full details](/posts/is-monster-hunter-rise-on-mobile).
**Catch:** Soft launch — only live in the Philippines and Malaysia so far. No Sunbreak expansion.
## Monster Hunter Now — the Niantic one
**What it is:** A completely separate game by Niantic (the Pokémon GO studio), built around going outside. Monsters appear on a real-world map; you walk to them and fight in short, 75-second bursts designed for one-handed phone play.
**How you get it:** Free-to-play on the Play Store and App Store, with in-app purchases.
**Who it's for:** Casual daily play, walks, and short sessions. Much simpler combat than Rise — this is Monster Hunter distilled into a mobile-native format, not a port.
**Key difference from Rise:** Now is a location-based live-service game; Rise mobile is the full traditional game behind a subscription.
## Monster Hunter Outlanders — the upcoming one
**What it is:** An announced open-world survival game for mobile, developed by TiMi Studio Group (Call of Duty: Mobile, Honor of Kings) with Capcom's license. Think open world, crafting, and survival mechanics — a different genre take on the universe.
**Status:** Announced, not yet released. Details are still thin, and anything promising a download right now is — you guessed it — [a scam](/posts/fake-apk-warning-rise-mobile).
**Who it's for:** Too early to say, but the pitch is a bigger, more systemic open world than either of the other two.
